on 26th may 2016 had the pleasure of injecting depression deep into me visiting yet another age old temple in shambles...why SHIVA... why do yo do this to yourself. You protect all of us... why not your temples. each time I walk out of one such temple I say... this is the worst. pls visit SRI.SOUNDARANAYAKI AMMAN TEMPLE AT UDANURRAI NEAR KUMBAKONAM. Close to Nachiar Koil about 15 kms from INDeco Hotels Swamimalai.There is the famous Paadhiri tree in the temple complex
An historian told me that this ancient temple was built by Vikrama chola, 1117 - 1135 AD.But sthala puranam says He prayed here and was cured of his luckoderma and therefore in thanksgiving he renovated the temple.This simply means that the temple was old enough to be renovated and that takes its existence to Rajendra chola or even earlier.

I NOW GET TO KNOW THAT THUKKACHI, THE VILLAGE WHERE THE TEMPLE IS SITUATED, COMES FROM DURGAI AATHCHI... A PLACE RULED BY DURGA.
I AM NOW SEING SCENES OF RAJENDRAS PLODDING ARMY RACING AROUND THIS TEMPLE EACHTIME THEY WENT TO WAR.
I KNOW THERE ARE NO QUICK FIX SOLUTIONS TO THIS SITUATION...BUT I AM CERTAIN SOLUTIONS WILL EMERGE....AND EMERGE SOON.
